AL47 specializes in residential remodeling, new homes and small commercial work. Al & Ginger do most of the work themselves, so you get experienced hands on every phase of your project.

Remodeling & Design

Al & Ginger both have a knack for design: color and proportion, architecture and decorating, problem solving and creativity. Between the two of them, they typically handle the design for their projects in house.

Ginger managed two local shops on Main Street for years, where decorating and design were part of the job (she’s also a seamstress). And, shh, don’t tell anyone, but Al once worked for a local interior decorator, setting up the shop window displays on Main Street in Fredericksburg.

Finish Carpentry

Along the way, Al & Ginger have done a lot of finish carpentry, from coping the corners of crown moulding to milling their own fluted trim.

Tile & Masonry

Tile is where Al got his professional start, with Ginger right there at the end of the day helping him finish up. We excel at tile work, from traditional ceramic to modern porcelain to stone. Some clients forget we do the rest of construction too.

Welding & Steel

You read that right. Ginger has been welding since she was nine, in her daddy’s shop. Structural, decorative or somewhere in between, she’s your go-to for steel work.

Painting

Al & Ginger have both painted since they were kids: Ginger in her daddy’s shop, Al alongside his parents. Over time they had the chance to relearn the trade from professional painters (Al will tell you there was a lot of yelling involved). It paid off. They paint with the best.

Framing Carpentry

Al & Ginger have framed their own jobs from the beginning. Al has been around frame construction his whole life and has also framed for other companies. From traditional stick-built to advanced framing, we have the experience and knowledge for both.

Roofing

Al & Ginger have done plenty of roofing. Their experience makes them the right call for repairs or additions, and their expertise makes them a great choice to contract a roofing company and make sure the job is done right.

Contracting

We handle most jobs in house, but there are times when legal or practical requirements call for outside help. We have good relationships with other contractors, subs, HVAC experts, plumbers and electricians. That knowledge of how construction works, and those relationships, make us a great choice for your next project.

Ranch & Land Work

Al & Ginger have plenty of ranching experience. They live on their own place, Wood Fail, and have kept it up for 25+ years, and Ginger’s family has the Angle E Ranch, where they raise goats, donkeys and cattle.

That has given them experience in fencing, clearing, and road and terrace repair. They even raise their own beef for family and friends. Are you a friend?
